Belarus expects many tourists during the 2nd CIS Games and the organizers of the games look forward to meet them, head of the marketing department of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Vitaly Ostrovsky said during the presentation of the Games at the Leisure 2023 expo of tourism services in Minsk on 13 April, BelTA has learned.

Visitors and participants of the 2nd CIS Games will be offered all necessary conditions for work and leisure. In order to attract as many spectators as possible, the entrance to all arenas will be free. Most of the sports will feature youth and juniors. Some sports, including beach soccer, hockey, rhythmic gymnastics, sambo and weightlifting, will be represented by national teams.


Today's presentation at the Palace of Sports in the Belarusian capital showcased the visual brands of the upcoming Games. The symbols are based on the ideas of ornaments by Belarusian artist Alyona Kish. The main brands are in blue and cornflower colors, typical of the Belarusian lands. The mascot of the Games is Rysia the Lynx. The slogan of the competition is Strong in Spirit, Strong in Game!

The 2nd CIS Games will take place in Belarus on 4-14 August 4. The opening and closing ceremonies of the sports forum will be held at Minsk Arena. Apart from the Belarusian capital, the competitions will be held in Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev, Borisov, Soligorsk, Orsha, Molodechno and Zhlobin. Champions and medalists will be named in 20 sports. The Games will feature about 5,000 athletes from CIS and non-CIS stats the awards.

The 1st CIS Games were held in Kazan in 2021. The Belarusian team ranked fifth in the medal table with 69 medals, including nine gold ones.
