On March 12-14 ExpoCenter in Moscow hosted annual international expo MITT-2019. Republic of Belarus presented itself by the stand that was designed in accordance with the style of II European Games that will come to Minsk later this year.
Concept of Belarus participation on MITT-2019
Presentation of Belarus’s touristic potential included promo-material on historic and cultural legacy of the country, its recreational possibilities and the diversity of its natural riches. The attention was drawn in particular to the visa-free regime in Belarus and to the promotion of the upcoming II European Games of 2019.
Stand participants told about medical, business, sports and event tourism, as well as demonstrated the tour programs. Belarusian stand experts included 5 sports-and-tourism committees, 2 recreational sanatoria, Belarusian tour operator and a travel agency. During MITT-19 they discussed the prospects of cooperation in tourism with their foreign colleagues.
Betting on event tourism
Great expectations of Belarusian tourism policy fall on promotion of event tourism as the major factor of increasing entry flow from abroad. This is a reason for Belarusian delegation and the producer Igor Such to present 2 Belarusian events of international level that are increasing in popularity among thousands of participants and viewers from other countries.
Annual international competition Miss Extreme World has been uniting talented women and girls from Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, European and Middle-East countries for three years now. This competition is singular in separating all participants into several age groups from 5 to 55 years old. The major goal of Natalia Trofimova, a model who created this project, is to unite promoting of the image of a modern active woman with developing educational and event tourism in Belarus. Thousands of foreign guests visit the fashion show, strengthening its position in global fashion industry.
Another annual event is the “Shimko unites friends” festival that has been initiated by famous Guiness recordholder Kirill Shimko. That international family health festival is held on the Isloch river and offers to participate in a wide variety of activities like archery, armwrestling, quad races to over 25 thousand visitors. The success of the event is ensured by the combination of natural landscape, talent of the participants and unique entertainment show.
“Contribution to event tourism development through hosting such unique international competitions pushes many other Belarusian industries to grow at a faster rate”, also noted Igor Sych, producer and trend futurologist.
