According to BelTA’s sources in Belarusian diplomatic mission in Spain, World Tourism Organization is positive about Belarus’s efforts in tourism development, Jaime Alberto Cabal Sanclemente, the Deputy Secretary-General of WTO, said on March 25th at the meeting with Pavel Pustovoy, the Ambassador of Belarus in Spain and permanent representative of Belarus at World Tourism Organization.
Sides noted the constructive nature of Belarus – WTO relations.
Pavel Pustovoy also emphasized the steps that Belarus has already taken for attraction foreign tourists.
Among those are introduction and successful functioning of 30-day visa-free regime for being in the country, liberalization of visa policies, opportunity to visa-free access to Belarus for members and guests of II European Games that will take place in Minsk on June 21-30.
“Jaime Alberto Cabal Sanclemente in turn was very positive about Belarus’s efforts in tourism development and expressed his confidence that the presence of permanent representative of Belarus at World Tourism Organization with headquarters in Madrid would boost the development of relations between our country and this organization”, the embassy said.
Deputy Secretary-General stated that among WTO’s major courses of action for the nearest future are innovation in tourism, development of new educational programs and continuation of encouragement of Member States of liberalization of visa policies.
