MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – The number of Belarusian tourists, who visit Uzbekistan, tripled in 2023, BelTA learned from Director of the Tourism Department of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry Irina Voronovich.
Over 1.5 million tourists travelled inside the country in 2022. “There should be as many of them this year. We see it by looking at the facilities, at their workload, and at the interest of our citizens,” Irina Voronovich said.
Apart from that, Belarus advances cooperation with friendly countries. “The head of state has recently visited Uzbekistan. We interact with our Uzbek colleagues and have already signed a plan for the year 2024. From the figures we see that the flow of Belarusian tourists to this country last year tripled in comparison with 2022. Uzbekistan is an interesting and beautiful country with totally different history and culture. It is important to promote domestic tourism on the basis of mutuality with other countries. Because people, who come back, love and appreciate their country even stronger,” the official is convinced.
Apart from that, Belarus tightly cooperates with the Russian Federation. “We tightly interact with regions and Russians brought large stands and interesting offers to the Leisure 2023 expo. Belarusians also discover the neighboring country from a new angle,” Irina Voronovich noted.
